It’s bigger, brighter and has more bikes on show. Our Folkestone store has never looked better.

One week since unveiling our newly extended store, we thought it was the perfect time share some photos so you can see how great it looks before you come in and see us in person.

Activ first opened in 1992 in Folkestone as an extreme sports shop, covering snowboarding, windsurfing, scootering and cycling. Since 2015, the focus has been purely on bikes and the associated clothing, accessories and components from our single unit store in Folkestone, with the larger premises in Ashford opening last March.

When the unit next door in Sandgate Road became available, we jumped at the chance to double our Folkestone floorspace and increase the number of bikes on display from 40 to 80, with rack after rack of the best machines from Trek and Cervelo.

This has also allowed us to introduce two new bike brands in Raleigh and Haibike, as well as displaying more accessories and clothing from brands like Castelli, Bontrager, Endura, Shimano and SRAM. There’s also a coffee machine and seating area where customers can take a break or the family can sit down while you indulge in a bit of bike browsing.

Shop Manager Steve Burton said: “It’s a much brighter, more open shop. It looks great.
“We are showing more bikes, more accessories – more of everything. And the expansion has allowed us to increase our workshop space too.
“The photos look great but you really have to come down and see it in person to appreciate the size of the shop now.”
