Who is Trek Verve+ for?

Trek Verve+ is the perfect bike if you simply want to jump on and ride, whether you’re heading to work, exploring new places or getting some fresh air on your favourite route. The practical rear rack will carry your laptop bag on the commute or your shopping if you’re just nipping out on an errand. The lowstep frame – on most models we stock – makes getting on and off easy and comfortable while the battery, with capacity up to 725Wh, gives you the assurance that you won’t run out of juice when you’re miles from home.

Trek Verve+ is for people who want to breeze around city streets and along canalside towpaths, with the power in reserve to assist you up steep and lengthy inclines if your route demands it. The latest generation models feature a sleek, modern aesthetic with the battery integrated into the downtube and cables routed within the frame.

Trek Verve+ specification

There isn’t a huge gulf between the entry point and top of the Verve+ range, with the main differences being higher models getting Bosch’s new BES3 motor and larger capacity batteries. There are also incremental improvements in components like the gears, brakes and tyres.

In this blog, we’ll look at the specifications of the Verve+ 3 Lowstep.

Verve+ 3 with rear rack

This bike comes with mudguards, lights, kickstand and a rear rack fitted as standard, and a sturdy but light aluminium frame, with the whole package weighing in at just under 25kg. The front fork features 50mm suspension travel for absorbing bumps and the wide, puncture-resistant Bontrager tyres are grippy on gravel but roll nicely on smoother surfaces, with the great practical touch of a reflective strip. Riders love the Selle Royal Nuvola gel saddle, which is waterproof and comfortable, with ergonomic design that suits both male and female riders.

The Shimano Altus M2010 gears have nine speeds to help you boost your speed on the flats or take it easy on the way uphill, with Shimano hydraulic disc brakes to give you confidence in your stopping power on the way back down.

The Bosch Performance Line Cruise motor delivers 250 Watts of power and 65Nm of torque, which gives you a medium-to-high level of acceleration and uphill drive. In line with UK law, the boost is limited to 25 km/h (15.5mph) but that doesn’t stop you going faster if your legs and gravity allow. The Bosch PowerTube battery offers 400 Wh of power and this model is compatible with Range Boost, an extra battery which attaches to the frame and makes your rides last hours – and miles – longer. All this is controlled by a Bosch Purion controller that displays your speed and lets you choose the right level of assist for the terrain you’re riding. One full charge of the main battery is good for up to 85 miles, though this will be more like 50 miles if you mix up the levels of assist, turning up the boost on your way up hills, for example.
