In the latest of our meet the team series, we introduce Colin, who leads on our marketing and brazes his own frames!
Tell us a bit about yourself, Colin
I’m an unashamed bike nerd, I’m originally from Folkestone and now living in Canterbury with my wife and two kids. I’ve been working in the bike industry for 14 years now, doing almost every job you can do.
What do you do at Activ?
I’m the Ecommerce and Marketing manager.
Best part of the job?
Meeting people who are as into bikes as me and getting to see amazing bikes every day.
What kind of riding do you do?
Some MTB but mostly gravel and touring now.
Current bike(s)?
Trek Procaliber, Rowan Frameworks gravel tourer, Charlie Papa stainless road and Brompton S3L.
Dream bike?
Trek Supercaliber 9.9 SLR
Dream location to ride?
Osaka to Tokyo cycle touring. I’ve always wanted to visit Japan, and to hit the mountains on a bike would be incredible.
Best biking memory?
Riding the west coast of France to Spain: traffic free roads, empty beaches, wild camping, Atlantic thunderstorms, tapas… perfect!
When I’m not riding bikes…
I’ll be climbing, listening to vinyl or brazing steel frames in my workshop.

I’m addicted to peanut butter and eat it almost every single day… sometimes just with a spoon.
